Earth Xplor, LLC surveyed this old lease at the owner's request. The EXP survey indicated that there are potential commercial reservoirs remaining under the property.  During the deepening of the well to get to the Woodbine oil formation oil flowed into the pits when drilling through the Nacatoch formation. This photo displays oil flowing into the pit as the well is being drilled.

The Earth Xplor, LLC survey discovered that the shallow oil formation had previously only been completed in the top lens of the sand. EarthXplor LLC discovered that oil reserves are in the sand a few feet deeper. (20' plus or minus.)

Drilling proved that EXI's analysis was correct as oil flowed into the pits.

REMOTE SENSING

An exploration method that EarthXplor, LLC. employs remote sensing with the use of earth-orbit satellite tools that can help determine the presence of oil and gas reservoirs. Hydrocarbon Mapping Co., LLC surveyed these properties for Earth Xplor, LLC, using these techniques to determine if hydrocarbon signatures are present under these properties. The survey found hydrocarbon signatures that indicate possible reservoirs.

SOIL GAS DETECTION

Soil gas surveys are taken over prospects to see if physical oil reservoir gas is present in the soil on a property. The results of soil gas surveys displayed on this page are very good to excellent soil gas readings. Readings from 250 to 600 ppb indicate an oil reservoir.

WOODBINE EXPLORATION PROSPECT 2024

The Operator re-entered an old well and deepened the well to test the Woodbine formation. In the process, he found that the Nacatoch formation had remaining reserves to produce. Unfortunately, the depth to the Woodbine was too much for the little rig and the hole was abandoned.

Earth Xplor, LLC has surveyed many areas within the East Texas Basin doing its research exploring for the Woodbine formation.

EXP found that there are many undeveloped Woodbine reservoirs remaining to be produced. As a result of this research, we have many prospects we would like to see developed producing.
